Received a Plan?
Someone you care about has shared this with you. Here is where to begin.
I Need It Now
- Start with the Emergency Sheet
Read it from the top and call the people listed first. It needs no password.
- Follow the Immediate Instructions
Look for anyone who needs care, the contacts to call, and the wishes that need attention soon.
- Open the Sealed File When You're Ready
Use the five words on the paper you were given. The file holds the fuller plan and the next things to work through.
How to Open the Sealed File
- Find the attachment whose name begins 'morrow-sealed-file'.
- Open the file itself in Chrome or Safari, rather than the preview in your email or messaging app.
- Enter the five words from the paper you were given, then select Open.
Capital letters and extra spaces do not matter. You do not need to buy morrow.
I'm Keeping It for Later
There is nothing urgent to do today.
- Keep the Emergency Sheet somewhere you can find it.
- Keep the Sealed File somewhere you can find it again. Store the paper with the five words separately.
- Open the Sealed File together once, to check that the five words work.
- When you receive updated copies, check their dates and replace the older versions.
Need a Little Help?
I Can't Open the File
Make sure you are opening the Sealed File itself, the file whose name begins "morrow-sealed-file", and not only its preview in an email or messaging app. Open it in Chrome or Safari and type the five words from the paper. If it still will not open, ask the person who sent it for a fresh copy, or the other holder named on the Emergency Sheet.
The Five Words Aren't Working
Check the words against the paper you were given. Capital letters and spaces do not matter. Make sure the file and the paper go together: a newer file needs the newer words. If you are unsure, ask the other holder to check their copy.
I've Lost the Five Words
The other holder may have a copy. Their details are on the Emergency Sheet. If neither paper can be found, the Sealed File cannot be opened, and we cannot open it either. The Emergency Sheet still stands, and the people on it are your next place to turn.
I Can't Reach the Person Holding the File
Contact the other holder listed on the Emergency Sheet. They have another copy of the same things.
